exploring the stylization of natural form through varying degrees of abstraction. ranging from photorealism to a solid circle, this work asks how we recognize and assign meaning to form— and what is lost or revealed in reduction.
the final circle is both a void and a vessel: the most reduced form, yet open to all interpretation. stylization is used to enhance or detract characteristics. seeing form where it is not. what begins as nature becomes a symbol, then gesture, then idea.
printed in ten colors— from bright yellow that nearly jumps off the paper, to bold, defined green- each iteration shifts perception. Like a particular style, an individual may be drawn to one color over another.
